NOHPG are supporting the Change4life Campaign ‘Eat well and move more’ introduced by Public Health England

This campaign will shine a light on snacks and snacking and look to encourage a reduction in the intake of sugary snacks – the idea is not o say no snacking but to reduce the number of unhealthy snacks  per day and in doing so addressing the the health harms of sugar-  child obesity and dental caries being two key health issues related to sugars. Practical advice on snacking, a realistic approach and support in making healthier choices, considering 100 calorie snacks.

Dental toolkit – Top Tips for Teeth:

Top Tips for Teeth dental toolkit has been developed to acquire a more joined up approach, The dental toolkit has been designed for general dental practices, we are delighted to see this work unfold and welcome the additional resources for schools.

Change4Life schools resources:

Change4Life has created new curriculum-linked teaching resources to help pupils to identify healthier snack choices, as well as interpret food labels to understand sugar content. They are flexible and easy to use, the new resources are differentiated for Reception, Key Stage 1, lower Key Stage 2 and upper Key Stage 2. Teachers can download the new teaching resources from the School Zone website from 8thJanuary 2018.
